There is a wealth of information on the RCVS website and this is accessed via the 'quick links' on the right hand side of the homepage for the RCVS site. This includes information for those wishing to become Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses. In addition, the Myerscough College website has more specific information about their courses.

As a practice, we work closely with Myerscough College to provide training for our Student Veterinary Nurses. The majority of the practical work takes place within the practice. Places for training as a Veterinary Nurse are created from time to time but are by no means a frequent occurrence. We advertise these places in the North West Evening Mail. Any potential nurse trainee is welcome to send their CV to us at any time. We will keep these on file but it is worthwhile following this with a formal application to any job we may have advertised .

Requests for work-experience and voluntary work are handled on an individual basis. You should be aware that a lower age limit of 15 years is adhered to as a condition of our insurance. In these cases we offer an informal chat and a morning of experience prior to offering any position. Any requests for work-experience during term time for school pupils should be handled directly by the school.
